英語地道習(xí)語:two-timer腳踩兩只船的人

這次我們要學(xué)的習(xí)慣用語是：two-timer。 timer原來可以指按時(shí)計(jì)算報(bào)酬的工作人員，但是用在兒女私情上就不是那個(gè)意思了。 two-timer跟有忠誠(chéng)不二的含義的one and only可說是恰恰相反。 two-timer指的是那種腳踩兩只船的人。這種人三心二意同時(shí)交兩個(gè)異性朋友，而且把兩邊都蒙在鼓里，騙得那兩個(gè)人都相信自己是他/她的one and only。

這個(gè)習(xí)慣用語已經(jīng)流傳了七十五年了，對(duì)它的出典眾說不一。有人認(rèn)為two-timer來自two at a time，一次抓兩個(gè);也有人說two-timer原來是 making time with two，跟兩個(gè)人混。不管怎樣這種騙局早晚會(huì)拆穿。那騙子不但會(huì)弄得焦頭爛額，最后下場(chǎng)還多半是兩頭落空。
