曲靖師范學(xué)院
曲靖師范學(xué)院地處我國第三大河珠江的發(fā)源地、云南省第二大城市、爨文化的故鄉(xiāng)、“全國十佳宜居城市”——曲靖市。學(xué)校辦學(xué)歷史最早可追溯至1907年開辦的“師范傳習(xí)所”,1912年設(shè)置云南省立第三師范學(xué)校,1956年更名為曲靖師范學(xué)校,1977年招收昆明師范學(xué)院曲靖普通(本科)班,1978年成立曲靖師范??茖W(xué)校(1993年更名為曲靖師范高等??茖W(xué)校),1984年建立曲靖教育學(xué)院。2000年3月經(jīng)教育部批準(zhǔn),曲靖師范高等專科學(xué)校、曲靖教育學(xué)院、曲靖師范學(xué)校合并組建曲靖師范學(xué)院。2007年6月,學(xué)校以“良好”的成績通過了教育部本科教學(xué)工作水平評估。2010年,成為云南省優(yōu)質(zhì)生源高校。2011年12月被中央文明委命名表彰為“全國文明單位”。

學(xué)?,F(xiàn)有校本部、古城和環(huán)東三個(gè)校區(qū),占地總面積1234畝。校舍面積30.16萬平方米;圖書館館藏文獻(xiàn)總量近180萬冊;固定資產(chǎn)總值6.38億元,其中教學(xué)科研儀器設(shè)備總值8768.79萬元。2004年9月建成占地1158畝,充滿濃郁現(xiàn)代大學(xué)氣息的校本部,環(huán)境優(yōu)美,綠化面積占62.4%。
學(xué)校設(shè)有18個(gè)教學(xué)單位,4個(gè)教輔機(jī)構(gòu),20個(gè)研究機(jī)構(gòu),1個(gè)國家級特色建設(shè)專業(yè),有7個(gè)省級重點(diǎn)學(xué)科,其中3個(gè)碩士學(xué)位授權(quán)立項(xiàng)建設(shè)學(xué)科,2個(gè)優(yōu)勢特色重點(diǎn)學(xué)科,2個(gè)已掛牌二類重點(diǎn)學(xué)科。2個(gè)省級重點(diǎn)專業(yè),3個(gè)省級特色專業(yè),3個(gè)省級實(shí)驗(yàn)教學(xué)示范中心,2個(gè)省級高校重點(diǎn)建設(shè)實(shí)驗(yàn)室,有國家體育總局研究基地1個(gè),省哲學(xué)社會科學(xué)重點(diǎn)研究基地1個(gè),9門省級精品課程,5個(gè)省級教學(xué)團(tuán)隊(duì),2個(gè)省級人才培養(yǎng)模式創(chuàng)新實(shí)驗(yàn)示范區(qū);設(shè)有47個(gè)全日制本科專業(yè),17個(gè)高職高專專業(yè),60個(gè)成人教育專業(yè)。專業(yè)涉及經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、法學(xué)、教育學(xué)、文學(xué)、歷史學(xué)、理學(xué)、工學(xué)、管理學(xué)8大學(xué)科門類。面向全國26個(gè)省(市、區(qū))招生,現(xiàn)有全日制本專科在校生近14000人,另有函授、電大、網(wǎng)絡(luò)教育在籍學(xué)生一萬余人。
學(xué)校現(xiàn)有在職教職員工931人,其中專任教師677人,正高職稱教師81人,副高職稱教師231人,高級職稱教師占到專兼職教師的45%,博士、碩士學(xué)位(含在讀)教師546人,碩博教師占專兼職教師79%以上,37位教師受聘擔(dān)任上海師大、云大和云師大碩士生導(dǎo)師,享受國務(wù)院特殊津貼專家7人,全國優(yōu)秀教師1人,享受省政府特殊津貼、省各類專業(yè)技術(shù)人才專家12人,云南省高?!敖虒W(xué)名師”4人,云南省級名師工作室3個(gè),長年聘任校外兼職教授150人,外籍教師9人。初步形成了一支符合本科教學(xué)要求,具有較高思想業(yè)務(wù)素質(zhì)的教師隊(duì)伍。
學(xué)校注重對學(xué)生創(chuàng)新精神、實(shí)踐能力和就業(yè)競爭力的培養(yǎng)。學(xué)生在“挑戰(zhàn)杯”全國大學(xué)生課外學(xué)術(shù)科技作品競賽、全國大學(xué)生數(shù)學(xué)建模競賽、全國大學(xué)生藝術(shù)展演比賽等各類省級以上比賽中獲獎(jiǎng)700余項(xiàng)。大學(xué)生“三下鄉(xiāng)”社會實(shí)踐活動,連續(xù)多年受到團(tuán)中央、團(tuán)省委表彰。2004年至2013年,畢業(yè)生連續(xù)十年以93%以上的就業(yè)率名列全省高校前茅,受到省教育廳的表彰。
2000年以來,學(xué)校共承擔(dān)各類科研項(xiàng)目990余項(xiàng),其中獨(dú)立主持國家社會科學(xué)基金資助項(xiàng)目27項(xiàng),獨(dú)立主持和聯(lián)合承擔(dān)國家自然科學(xué)基金項(xiàng)目10項(xiàng),獨(dú)立主持教育部等各類項(xiàng)目26項(xiàng),省級各類項(xiàng)目129項(xiàng),省教育廳各類項(xiàng)目254項(xiàng),曲靖市各類項(xiàng)目15項(xiàng),校級各類項(xiàng)目501項(xiàng),橫向課題27項(xiàng);出版專著、編著、藝術(shù)作品集和主編教材180余部,發(fā)表論文6100余篇;獲得省各類優(yōu)秀成果獎(jiǎng)48項(xiàng),省部級以上各類教育教學(xué)獎(jiǎng)105項(xiàng),曲靖市社會科學(xué)優(yōu)秀成果獎(jiǎng)85項(xiàng),曲靖市文學(xué)藝術(shù)創(chuàng)作政府獎(jiǎng)24項(xiàng)。
學(xué)校積極開展國際交流與合作。成立了“云南省出國留學(xué)預(yù)備學(xué)院曲靖分院”,啟動了與泰國東方大學(xué)、美國賓州曼斯菲爾德大學(xué)、新西蘭商學(xué)院和林肯大學(xué)聯(lián)合招收“1+3”、“1+2+1”等多種出國留學(xué)人才培養(yǎng)項(xiàng)目;與英國、美國、加拿大、澳大利亞、新西蘭、意大利、韓國、老撾、泰國、印度和臺灣等國家和地區(qū)的23所高校和教育管理集團(tuán),以及教育服務(wù)機(jī)構(gòu)建立了穩(wěn)定的交流合作關(guān)系,深入開展教師互訪、師生交流、學(xué)生留學(xué)和學(xué)生海外帶薪實(shí)習(xí)等項(xiàng)目,穩(wěn)步、高校地推進(jìn)了學(xué)校的教育國際化進(jìn)程。
在“十二五”時(shí)期,學(xué)校圍繞2007年12月曲靖市委、市政府做出的“在2015年把曲靖師范學(xué)院建成以師范和工科為主的綜合性曲靖大學(xué)”的戰(zhàn)略決策,確立了“強(qiáng)本、申碩、創(chuàng)建綜合大學(xué)”的奮斗目標(biāo),描繪了未來發(fā)展藍(lán)圖。

Qujing Normal University:A Brief Introduction
Qujing Normal University (QJNU) is located in Qujing City, the second largest city in Yunnan province, the hometown of Cuan Culture, one of the Top 10 National Residence-Friendly Cities in China, and where the Pearl River, which is the third longest river in the country, originates. The history of QJNU can be traced back to 1907 when a Teachers Training Institute was founded. In 1912, the Third Provincial Teachers School of Yunnan was established in Qujing and in 1956, the school was renamed Qujing Teachers School. In 1977, the school began to enroll undergraduate students in collaboration with Kunming Normal College. In 1978, Qujing Junior Teachers College was established. In 1993, it was renamed Qujing Senior Teachers College. In 1984, Qujing College of Education was established. In March 2000, the former three schools of Qujing Senior Teachers College, Qujing College of Education and Qujing Teachers School were merged into QJNU. In June 2007, QJNU received a B rating in the undergraduate education accreditation by the National Ministry of Education, and since 2010, it has become one of the key universities enrolling high-quality students in Yunnan province. In December 2011, QJNU was awarded the prize of A National Civilized Unit by the Central Committee of Civilization Construction in China.
Carrying forward the school spirit of cultivating talents with joys and hardships and fostering a noble soul through persistent efforts and adhering to the university-running notion of cultivating talents as its first mission, qualified teachers as its prime resources, teaching and instruction as the teachers’ bounden duty and development as its foremost task, the University implements the motto of integrity, benevolence, wisdom and practice, and has nurtured the tradition of democracy, harmony, realism and innovation. It has made great contributions to the regional economic and social development of Qujing and Yunnan by cultivating 40,000-odd advanced and practical talents in the past decades. Among its large number of well-known alumni, to name only a few, were General Xu Wenlie, who contributed a great deal to the national revolution and construction cause, Mr. Gui Taosheng, music composer of the well-known song On Mount Taihang, and Mr. Wang Jiaben, the renowned military general in the anti-Japanese war. In recent years, Hu Yan (female) has won the titles of “A National Red-Banner Pacesetter” and “A National Outstanding Individual in Aiding Tibet in Education”, and she is also one of the deputies in Yunnan province for the 18th CPC Party Congress. Mr. Guo Kuacun has won the titles of “Man of the Hour for Education in Yunnan” and “A Hundred Well-known Principals in Yunnan.” Mr. Liang Chunling won the titles of “National Outstanding College Students Aiding Education” in 2008 and “Man of the Hour for Education in Yunnan” in 2009. QJNU has won the notable reputation of commencing from the source of the long Pearl River and being the cradle for thousands of teachers and instructors. Now it has become a leading figure in the educational development cause, an important base for cultivating qualified teachers, and a bright window for the construction of advanced culture in Qujing city.
QJNU has got three campuses: the Main Campus, Gucheng Campus and Huandong Campus. It covers a total area of 1234 mu (about 200 acres), with a schoolhouse floor space of 301.6 thousand sq m; a high-standard library stocked with over 1.8 million volumes of books; the fixed assets total 638 million Yuan RMB, of which the teaching and scientific research-related equipment and facilities stand at 87.6879 million Yuan RMB. The Main Campus (the new campus), which was built in September 2004 and totals an area of 1158 mu (191 acres), contains all the elements of a modern university and it is environment-friendly with a green space accounting for 62.4% of the total.
At present, QJNU has 18 teaching units, 4 teaching-supporting institutions and 20 research institutes. QJNU provides 1 national-level specially-featured undergraduate program(major), 7 provincial-level key disciplines; 3 are provincial key construction disciplines for master’s degree programs; 2 are privileged provincial key specialties; and 2 are authorized Title II key disciplines. Besides, the University offers 2 provincial key undergraduate majors, 3 provincial specially-featured programs, 3 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 2 provincial key construction laboratories of higher education, and 1 research base for the State Bureau of Physical Culture Administration, 1 provincial key research base of philosophy and social sciences. The University has also developed 9 provincial-level excellent courses, 5 provincial teaching teams and 2 provincial demonstration centers for innovative talents cultivation. Now the University offers 44 undergraduate bachelor’s degree programs, 17 specialties of vocational and professional training, and 60 specialties for adult education. The 47 undergraduate programs cover 8 major disciplines including economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, natural science, engineering and management. Enrolling students from China’s 26 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions), the University has got nearly 14,000 full-time students and another 10,000-odd students of correspondence, TV and online education.
QJNU has a faculty and staff team of 931 members, among whom 677 are full-time instructors. Eighty-one of them are full professors and 231 are associate professors, taking a rate of 45% of its total full- and part-time teachers. Of its large contingent of teachers, 546 (including candidates) have got their doctor’s or master’s degrees, accounting for 79% of the total; 37 of them are MA/MS supervisors of Shanghai Normal University, Yunnan University and Yunnan Normal University; 7 of them enjoy special expert allowance granted by the State Council; 1 is titled the National Outstanding Teacher; 12 are rated as provincial distinguished experts and are granted special expert allowance by the provincial government; 4 are titled Distinguished Teachers of Yunnan province for higher education. In addition, the University has 3 Workshops for Distinguished Teachers, and it has invited 150 visiting and part-time professors and 9 foreign experts to work on campus. The faculty and staff team, with a highly professional teaching competence, can satisfactorily meet the demands of undergraduate education.
QJNU has been laying special emphasis on cultivating the innovative spirits, practical competence and employability skills of the students, and the students have made dazzling achievements and have won over 700 prizes in a variety of national and provincial competitions such as the “Challenge Cup” National Academic and Scientific Works Competition for College Students, the National Mathematical Modeling Competition for College Students and the National Fine Arts Exhibitions Competition for College Students. The University has also won many awards from the Central and Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League for its “Three Sends to the Countryside” programs consecutively in the past years. The employment rate of the undergraduate students is over 93%, ranking among the top in Yunnan province from the year 2004 to 2013 and it has won many awards from Yunnan provincial department of education.
Since 2000, the University has undertaken over 990 scientific research projects in various fields, among which 27 are National Social Science Fund Projects solely conducted by its own faculty members; 10 are National Natural Science Fund Projects solely or jointly conducted; 26 are solely-conducted projects funded by the national Ministry of Education and others; 129 are funded by various provincial-level departments; 254 are funded by the provincial department of education; 15 are funded by various departments of Qujing municipality; 501 are funded by the university itself, and 27 are horizontal research projects. The faculty and staff members have published over 180 monographs, compilation works, collections of fine arts and textbooks and over 6100 research papers. Besides, the University has won 48 prizes for its outstanding achievements in various fields in Yunnan, 105 prizes for teaching of various realms at provincial or national level and above, 85 prizes for outstanding achievements in social science research in Qujing, and 24 prizes for literature and fine art works from Qujing Municipal People’s Government.
QJNU has been actively carrying out international exchange and cooperation. It has set up the Qujing Branch of the Preparatory School for Studying-abroad Students in Yunnan Province and commenced such joint talents cultivation programs as “1+3”, “2+2” and “1+2+1” with Burapha University in Thailand, Mansfield University of Pennsylvania in the USA and New Zealand College of Business and Lincoln University. QJNU has established stable and friendly relations with 23 foreign universities and educational organizations including those from the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, South Korea, the Laos, Thailand, India and Taiwan. Faculty and student exchange programs as well as the study-abroad and overseas internship with salaries projects are collaboratively and comprehensively carried out, and the progress of internationalization of the university is very effectively on the way.
In the time of the Twelfth Five-year Plan (2011-2015), QJNU will strictly adhere to the strategic development decision made by the Qujing Municipal Committee of the CPC and Qujing Municipal People’s Government in December 2007, which is “to build QJNU into a comprehensive university mainly engaging in teacher education and engineering in 2015.” The University has set the goal to “strengthen undergraduate education, strive to establish master’s degree programs and develop into a comprehensive university” and worked out an overall development blueprint for the future.
Looking forward, QJNU is striving to guide its overall progress by the Scientific Outlook on Development, taking into account its regional, normal, and instructional characteristics. It is going on the right way of internal development and greatly improves its level and quality of running schools. By laying special emphasis on the coverage of undergraduate programs, improving the construction of distinguished disciplines, promoting the level of internationalization and increasing the local impact for the regional and social development and its rate of contribution, the University is now doing its utmost to attain the long-term objective, which is to build into an applied and multi-disciplinary comprehensive university with outstanding features and distinguished characteristics, and, in the long run, becoming “one of the best of its kind in west China”.
