雅思和新托?？荚囀浅鰢?guó)考試中最炙手可熱的，而口語(yǔ)在兩類考試中都是中國(guó)考生的軟肋。就口語(yǔ)考試來(lái)說(shuō)，無(wú)論是在新托福還是雅思考試中，都是學(xué)生最薄弱的環(huán)節(jié)之一。英國(guó)大使館文化教育處透露，2008年中國(guó)學(xué)生口語(yǔ)的平均得分5.3分(這其中還包含香港和澳門學(xué)生的考分。這兩個(gè)地區(qū)學(xué)生的平均考分是高于大陸學(xué)生的平均水平的。)而這一成績(jī)?cè)谌蚺琶箶?shù)第三。就整體來(lái)看，中國(guó)大陸雅思考生的平均成績(jī)自2000年以來(lái)一直徘徊在全世界100余個(gè)參考國(guó)家中的倒數(shù)幾位，2006年的雅思均分為5.53，僅比阿聯(lián)酋考生分?jǐn)?shù)高。再來(lái)看新托?？谡Z(yǔ)成績(jī)。美國(guó)教育考試服務(wù)中心近期公布了全球考生2008年的托福成績(jī)報(bào)告。據(jù)報(bào)告顯示，中國(guó)考生口語(yǔ)成績(jī)，比全球平均分略低，只有74分。再?gòu)恼w來(lái)看，中國(guó)考生去年的新托福的平均分是76分，而全球考生的平均分是79分，這里可以看到中國(guó)考生的平均成績(jī)比全球的水平還要略微落后一些。看來(lái)口語(yǔ)考試都是兩類考試的關(guān)鍵部分。

那么今天兩種考試在口語(yǔ)部分的區(qū)別何在。

兩種考試的口語(yǔ)分別希望考我們什么？ 首先，來(lái)看看雅思和新托?？谡Z(yǔ)考試的評(píng)分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)有什么不同。根據(jù)ETS的官方指南(Offical Guide)，我們知道新托?？谡Z(yǔ)考試從言語(yǔ)表達(dá)、語(yǔ)言應(yīng)用和話題發(fā)展三個(gè)方面來(lái)考查考生。而雅思口語(yǔ)考試更側(cè)重考察考生的流利程度、詞匯、語(yǔ)法以及發(fā)音四個(gè)方面。簡(jiǎn)言之，新托?？谡Z(yǔ)考試時(shí)考查考生的校園日常對(duì)話以及課堂交流能力。而雅思口語(yǔ)考試考查學(xué)生的生存英語(yǔ)能力，即話題涉及的范圍比較廣。很多專家解釋為新托?？谡Z(yǔ)考試的答題內(nèi)容比較重要，即單位時(shí)間內(nèi)有邏輯地表達(dá)的信息越豐富越好。而雅思口語(yǔ)考試的表達(dá)比較重要，即越像英語(yǔ)本土人說(shuō)話越好。

兩種口考試的形式又有什么區(qū)別？這里我們簡(jiǎn)單的介紹一下兩種口語(yǔ)考試的考試題型。新托?？谡Z(yǔ)考試與雅思口語(yǔ)考試有著很大的差異。新托?？谡Z(yǔ)考試的時(shí)間為20分鐘，考生要戴上耳機(jī)，通過(guò)錄音，記錄下自己的答案?？荚囶}目有6題，其中1、2道為獨(dú)立回答題，這兩道題的準(zhǔn)備時(shí)間為15秒，回答時(shí)間是45秒。第3、4道要求先讀一段75~100字的文字，然后聽(tīng)一段與閱讀文字在內(nèi)容學(xué)術(shù)話題。3、4題的準(zhǔn)備時(shí)間是30秒，回答時(shí)間是60秒。最后的5、6道先聽(tīng)一段1分鐘左右的對(duì)話或短文，然后回答相應(yīng)內(nèi)容加上自己的意見(jiàn)。最后兩道題目的準(zhǔn)備時(shí)間是20秒，回答時(shí)間為60秒。考生可在聽(tīng)錄音的過(guò)程中做筆記來(lái)幫助答題。雅思口語(yǔ)考試一般時(shí)長(zhǎng)12至15分鐘，要和考官進(jìn)行面對(duì)面的交流?？谡Z(yǔ)分成三個(gè)部分，第一部分談?wù)摰谝徊糠终務(wù)撘恍┤粘Ｔ掝}，比如學(xué)習(xí)、工作、天氣、愛(ài)好、交通等等。第二部分考生拿到一張卡片，準(zhǔn)備一分鐘，然后就卡片中的內(nèi)容發(fā)言一至兩分鐘，卡片可能是人物、體育、環(huán)境、藝術(shù)、科技、傳媒等話題。第三部分，考官將對(duì)第二部分的內(nèi)容進(jìn)行擴(kuò)展，提問(wèn)一些較為深入和抽象的問(wèn)題。

那針對(duì)兩種考試，我們要注意什么呢？

1.時(shí)間。

無(wú)論是新托?？谡Z(yǔ)考試還是雅思口語(yǔ)考試，考生掌控時(shí)間能力的強(qiáng)弱對(duì)成績(jī)有著直接影響。新托?？谡Z(yǔ)考試對(duì)時(shí)間的要求更高一些。因?yàn)榇痤}時(shí)間最多不超過(guò)1分鐘。但是需要表達(dá)的信息卻不能少。如第1、2中的題目屬于日常話題，這兩道題本身難度比較小，所以特別需要注意的就是時(shí)間的分配問(wèn)題，在這45秒鐘里，一般用5~6秒完成主題句。接下來(lái)的15-20給出一個(gè)支持觀點(diǎn)和細(xì)節(jié)。然后用同樣的時(shí)間給出第二個(gè)。因此如果考生能在考前進(jìn)行充分的準(zhǔn)備，積累常用的細(xì)節(jié)或者事例，考試的時(shí)候就會(huì)從容許多。

而雅思口語(yǔ)考試除了第一部分以外，第二、三部分的時(shí)間掌控主要體現(xiàn)在答案結(jié)構(gòu)的安排。我們不能具體到每個(gè)細(xì)節(jié)用多少時(shí)間。但是除了開(kāi)頭和結(jié)尾的30秒外，每一個(gè)小點(diǎn)應(yīng)該安排30-35秒左右。每一個(gè)小點(diǎn)如何能講出更多的信息，如何使你的表達(dá)聽(tīng)起來(lái)更專業(yè)，更地道，更符合西方國(guó)家的文化習(xí)慣，是我們?cè)诳荚囍行枰獣r(shí)刻記住的。其實(shí)雅思口語(yǔ)和新托?？谡Z(yǔ)考試最大的不同在于雅思口語(yǔ)的單個(gè)題目答題時(shí)間比托福口語(yǔ)的時(shí)間要長(zhǎng)。這就要求雅思口語(yǔ)的答題中細(xì)節(jié)要更加細(xì)致。其次是雅思口語(yǔ)考試的答案都是主觀題，而新托福口語(yǔ)考試的綜合任務(wù)大部分都是重述題目中已經(jīng)給定的內(nèi)容，聽(tīng)力的能力在新托?？谡Z(yǔ)考試中至關(guān)重要。

2. 細(xì)節(jié)的細(xì)致程度。

我們來(lái)看2009年5月30日雅思口語(yǔ)第一部分的一個(gè)真題：Which room do you like most ? 這個(gè)題目在2008年的新托福口語(yǔ)第一道任務(wù)中也出現(xiàn)過(guò)。我們先來(lái)看一個(gè)新托福3.5~4(exccellent)分的答案：：(45秒、8句)The room I like most is defnitely my own bedroom, because I decorated it myself. My mom was so kind that she allowed me to chooes all the staff that I wanted to adnore my room, like the pink bed, the pink curtains as well as a gorgeous pink book shelf. What’s more, it is also a trustworthy friend of mine. It would remian bright even I burnt the midnight oil; it would play Marseillaise if I felt hopless and it always turns the cold shoulder to me when I make mistakes. I like my room most not only because of it is attractive by appreance, but also sincere inside。

我們看見(jiàn)，托福口語(yǔ)的答案有了細(xì)節(jié)和理由，加上完整的結(jié)構(gòu)和正確的語(yǔ)法就可以了。但是雅思口語(yǔ)的第一題都是簡(jiǎn)答題。因此簡(jiǎn)單回答重點(diǎn)即可。如： it of course is my bedroom, because I decorated it myself and it is a good friend to share happines and woes。但是倘若這道題目出現(xiàn)在第二個(gè)部分中，答案這樣是不夠的。從時(shí)間上來(lái)講，細(xì)節(jié)應(yīng)該更加細(xì)致才能有足夠的內(nèi)容說(shuō)。從內(nèi)容上來(lái)說(shuō)，更應(yīng)注意表達(dá)的多樣性。從表達(dá)上來(lái)講，應(yīng)該注意和考官的眼神交流。

我們來(lái)看一個(gè)7.5分的口語(yǔ)表達(dá)：(最好2分鐘)There are a lot of rooms I like to stay in when I am at home, but among all these, I think my bedroom is on the tip of my tongue when you ask me such question. Well, I am the Chief desginer of my room and I took care of almost all the decoration purchase. I have brought all the pink staff home: the pink Bohimian bed, the pink wood book shelf as well as the pink lace curtains with a lot triangle patterns on them. I am such a huge fan of pink. Another point I would like to mention here is the loyality my bedroom represents to me. I always stay late due to a lot of assignment, but my room never has any complian. What’s more, it is always the last one to hit the hay. My bedroom is also very inspiring that it keeps playing Marseillaise if I encounters setbacks. The last point of my friend is that it blames me when I make mistakes. Like once, I had an argument with my mom because she refused to buy a new shirt for me. When I locked myself inside my room, I found the wall turns its shoulder to me that it looks white. I felt loney and regreting that probably I should not be such gready guy. That’s probably why I feel like falling in love with my tiny but fantastic bedroom.
