空氣污染即空氣中含有一種或多種污染物，其存在的量、性質(zhì)及時(shí)間會(huì)傷害到人類、植物及動(dòng)物的生命，損害財(cái)物、或干擾舒適的生活環(huán)境，如臭味的存在。換言之，只要是某一種物質(zhì)其存在的量，性質(zhì)及時(shí)間足夠?qū)θ祟惢蚱渌铩⒇?cái)物產(chǎn)生影響者，我們就可以稱其為空氣污染物;而其存在造成之現(xiàn)象，就是空氣污染。換言之，某些物質(zhì)在空氣中不正常的增量就產(chǎn)生空氣污染的情形。
