讀者 Poly 問(wèn)，"I like apples more than strawberries" 一句是否正確？

這是一句完全正確的句子，但如果寫(xiě)成 "I prefer apples to strawberries" 會(huì)更干凈利落。

更具爭(zhēng)議的有另外一個(gè)說(shuō)法 "I like apples better than strawberries" 又是否正確？

首先得承認(rèn)，不論正確與否，I like apples more/ better than strawberries 都有人說(shuō)。但我們可以這樣去觀察這個(gè)問(wèn)題：better 是 well 的 comparative degree，而 more 是 much 的 comparative degree，那我們說(shuō)「很喜歡吃蘋(píng)果」應(yīng)是 I like apples very well 還是 I like apples very much 呢？相信大部分人都會(huì)覺(jué)得后者更順口自然，因此 "I like apples more than strawberries" 是更合理的。

然而，I like some thing well 也不是絕對(duì)不可以說(shuō)，尤其當(dāng) well 用作情狀副詞（adverb of manner），有別于前面的程度副詞（adverb of degree）。用作情狀副詞時(shí) well 的意思略有不同，譬如說(shuō)："It is your life. Like it well" 后面一句有好好愛(ài)護(hù)、好好珍惜之意。
